Life’s a Bit - Countdown to Vacation

We’ve officially reached that magical point where the countdown is shorter than the list of things we still need to do before we leave. Vacation is here.

There’s something about having a trip on the horizon that changes your whole mood. Suddenly, even the little annoyances feel more tolerable because you know in a few days, you’ll be somewhere else—preferably somewhere with better views and better snacks.

For us, a vacation isn’t just about getting away. It’s about getting back—back to the kind of connection that comes from shared adventures, long drives with music too loud, and inside jokes that happen so fast we don’t even remember how they started.

Jess is already planning out a list of places to stop along the way (Tractor Supply and any thrift store we spot are pretty much guaranteed). I (Beck) am imagining a movie nights, and finding the coziest spot to just sit and soak it all in. It’s the perfect balance—one of us keeping the adventure moving, the other making sure we pause and enjoy it.

The days before a trip always feel a little hectic—packing, tying up loose ends, realizing we still haven’t found the charger for that one camera we swore we’d bring. But there’s also this undeniable joy in the anticipation.

Because when it comes down to it, the trip itself is just part of the story. The countdown, the planning, the “what are we even bringing?” conversations—they’re bits we’ll remember just as much as the trip itself. Here’s to time away, new memories, and whatever stories we come home with.

Because life’s a bit… and we’re about to make this next one a good one.
